One reason Tex-Mex is a bit expensive is because of the cost of fresh tomatoes and bell peppers. If you buy pouches of Spanish or Mexican rice (instead of making your own), that increases the price.
If you’ve never tried a veggie taco made with refried black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream – they are fantastic!
Publix sells Old El Paso dinner kits at BOGO every few weeks. You can get tacos only at Walmart cheaper. If you have leftover hot sauce from Taco Bell, you can use that to season your beef. If not, just use some garlic salt, pepper and chili powder.
