2024 Update

Eggs are cheap if you don’t buy organics. I am pricing these at $1.29 per dozen (Update: egg prices have more than doubled due to Avian flu. Adjust these numbers accordingly. I just can’t keep updating the pictures).
Butterball turkey bacon at full price in May 2024 was 15¢ per slice – regular buyers get 55¢ coupons or other Kroger discount. I’ve updated the prices on this page, but not the photos.
22¢ – for 2 eggs*
29¢ – 2 slices turkey bacon (3.49 w/coupon or buy 6 promotion)
49¢ – yogurt cup (full price at Walmart)
20¢ – 2 tomato slices
19 ¢ – 8 oz. glass of milk (or grapefruit juice for 24¢, or OJ for 19¢)**
35¢ – 1/2 grapefruit (on sale)
3¢ – bread
*Egg prices are all over the place in 2024, due to avian flu. You might add 50¢ to each of these, depending where you are and what month it is.
Orange juice varies – especially when there’s a weather problem. In May of 2024, Kroger’s cheapest orange juice (frozen concentrate) was 3.50 for a half gallon. I get 45¢ coupons each month. That’s 38¢ for an 8 oz. glass.
Cut that in half with water and it’s 19¢.
I cut my juice in half with water to reduce calories and sugar. Generic or Ocean Spray with the normal 60¢ coupon, then half a glass of juice and half a glass of water.
